1. Who We Are
Cayman Pride ("we," "us," "our") is a non-profit organization based in the Cayman Islands. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through our website, how we use it, and your rights under the Cayman Islands Data Protection Act (2021 Revision) ("DPA"), which is overseen by the Office of the Ombudsman.

2. What Data We Collect

We don't collect payment information, government ID, or health information through the Site. If you purchase merchandise, that transaction happens on a third-party platform and is covered by their privacy policy, not this one (see Section 6).

3. How We Use Your Data
- Contact form data: to respond to your inquiry (sponsorship, volunteering, media, general questions)
- Framer Analytics data: to understand how visitors use the Site and improve it. This data is anonymized and can't be traced back to you
- Meta Ads data: to measure the performance of our advertising and show relevant ads to people likely interested in Cayman Pride
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the DPA, we rely on:
- Legitimate interest — for our built-in Framer Analytics (anonymized, no cookies, no consent required) and for operating the Site
- Consent — for Meta Pixel advertising cookies (via our cookie banner, see Section 5)
- Consent — where you submit information voluntarily through the contact form
You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
5. Cookies
Cayman Pride's built-in site analytics (Framer Analytics) don't use cookies and collect only anonymized, aggregate data, so no consent is required for them.
The Site does use a cookie banner, specifically to get your consent before the Meta Pixel runs. When you first visit, you'll see a banner where you can accept or reject this tracking.
- Necessary cookies: required for basic Site functioning. Always active, no consent required.
- Advertising cookies (Meta Pixel): only set if you actively consent via the banner. Used to measure and target advertising.
You can change your cookie preference at any time through the cookie settings link in the site footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
6. Third-Party Processors
We use the following third-party services, which process data on our behalf or as independent controllers:

- Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook/Instagram Ads) — see Meta's Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
- Merchandise provider — when merch goes live, purchases will be processed by a separate third-party platform, not by Cayman Pride directly. That provider's own privacy policy will govern your purchase data. *[Name the provider here once confirmed.]*
Data processed by these services may be transferred to and stored on servers outside the Cayman Islands, including in the United States. These providers maintain their own data transfer safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses).
7. Data Retention
- Contact form submissions are kept for **12 months** from the date of submission, then deleted or anonymized.
- Framer Analytics data is anonymized and aggregate, so it isn't tied to an identifiable individual.
- Meta Pixel data is retained according to Meta's default settings unless we configure otherwise.
8. Your Rights
Under the DPA, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (for cookies, this won't affect processing that already happened)

9. Children's Data
The Site is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 through the contact form. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top will reflect the latest revision.
